• ABOUT: THE CERAMIC JOURNEY SERIES

    CRAFT, CONNECT, CREATE

The Ceramic Journey Series invites you to delve into the world of clay, discovering not just the material, but yourself and your connection to the world. This program offers a harmonious blend of technique and creativity through a series of five standalone courses. The series blends industry practices from a professional studio environment with the insights of higher education, offering depth and expertise without the constraints of formal education.

You have the flexibility to explore one or all of the five standalone courses. Each course focuses on different aspects of ceramics, including throwing and handbuilding techniques, forming techniques for both artistic and functional creations, glaze technology, alternative firing methods including Raku, and surface and decorative studies. Completion of at least three courses, or prior experience, makes you eligible for the culminating group exhibition program.

Each day is structured, covering core principles with windows of individual practice and development, ensuring you have a solid foundation of skills and self-expression. Belinda inspires you to express your unique artistic voice, encouraging personalised pathways in your ceramic journey in small groups of 3.

What sets this series apart is the collaborative links with Storehouse—a vibrant gallery and artisan space—providing real-world experiences and insights into the commercial art scene. This collaboration offers you a unique opportunity to engage with a thriving art community, gaining invaluable business insights and commercial acumen in an immersive, supportive environment.

The culminating exhibition program serves as a celebration of your newfound knowledge, skills, and artistic expression. You will have the opportunity to showcase your work to the public, gaining valuable experience in preparing and presenting your creations.
