“The object isn’t to make art, it’s to be in that wonderful state which makes art inevitable.” Robert Henri

Belinda Nailon is a Melbourne-based ceramic artist offering wheel-throwing classes and creative deep dives in her peaceful St Kilda studio. Her sessions—like her work—are more than just pottery; they’re an invitation to slow down, explore, and connect through clay.

Sitting at the wheel is how I return to my centre. In the stillness, form and flow begin to emerge.

    Commission works 2025

I’ve loved making these pieces—thrown in St Kilda, gas-fired in Hamilton, and now flying to their new home in New York. Inspired by Korean moon jars and moonlit nights, they hold something of stillness, shadow, and glow.
